The Western States 100 is an epic ultra-marathon which first started in 1974 and takes place in California’s Sierra Nevada Mountains on the last weekend in June each year since.  The race starts in Olympic Valley covering 100.2 miles, ending in Auburn.

A fantastic line up saw USA athlete Jim Walmsley take the overall win with a time of 14 hours 46 minutes 01 second. His third consecutive win at the Western States.

Jim, who led the race throughout, put in a strong performance, only slowing a touch to adapt to the intense heat in the later stages of the day.
