If you need to get the miles in like I do then running in the morning is a must. I try to run to work several times a week and as it’s dark at 7.30am I’ve found that I could use more options in my kit bag than just my trusty headlamp and jacket. We all know that visibility is key during Winter so it made sense to try out a reflective led vest by Ultimate Performance.
This lightweight led vest weighs has a fully adjustable waist and the shoulder straps fit me and I’m an XL size. It has reflective panels on the front and back, then on the back it has led lights that can remain constantly on or flash intermittently.
It keeps you nicely visible on the roads and I found that any passing cars kept a wide berth and they could obviously spot me okay. The vest was nice and comfortable on my body too so I could almost forget that I had it on.
Another great bonus is that this is an inexpensive option for increased visibility. It’s easily adjustable and fit over a couple of layers easily. I also liked that I could have my phone on me for easy access and it’s waterproof too – another bonus.
The battery is lasting well and the website says it will give 144 hours of use in flash mode and 72 hours in constant mode.
Overall the vest is comfortable, the buckles seem strong and it gave me the peace of mind that I was extra visible on the roads with its reflective details and led lights. It is lightweight and had the extra phone compartment. All in all a good piece of kit for an ultra runner.
