Today the official line-up is announced for this year’s RunFestRun – the only UK festival
to combine three unforgettable days of running legends, beautiful scenic running routes and the best feel-good party atmosphere this side of the Balearics, taking place on 20th – 22nd May 2022 at Englefield House in Berkshire.
Sophie Ellis-Bextor will be bringing her disco hits to the main stage, so get ready to unlace your trainers and hit the dancefloor! There will also be music from the likes of Toploader; family favourites, Dick & Dom; and the UK’s Number 1 Oasis tribute band Noasis, providing something for everyone to enjoy and let their hair down to. For kids and early risers, the second stage will be hosting a movie night for all the family.
Helmed by this year’s team captains Paula Radcliffe, Colin Jackson, Steve Cram CBE and Natasha Evans, the weekend will boast a range of talks and workshops hosted on the festival’s Talks Stage by Happiness Guru Danny Bent and host of Bad Boys Running Podcast, David Hellard. Be inspired by stars, Olympians and experts including broadcaster and founder of RunPod podcast, Jenni Falconer; author Lisa Jackson; four-time Ironman Triathlon World Champion, Chrissie Wellington OBE; sports presenter and ultrarunner, Vassos Alexander; and Made In Chelsea star and founder of RunBuddy, Josh Patterson.
Paula Radcliffe says: “I am so excited to be back as a team captain for RunFestRun 2022. We want everyone – families, beginners, solo and competitive runners – to come along for a fun weekend in the most breath-taking setting of Englefield House. I can’t wait to bring Families on Track back to the festival alongside all of the running opportunities there is available. It’s just the perfect stage to come together, enjoy and celebrate a sport so many of us love, after a tough few couple years.”
RunFestRun offers something for every level of runner, from 2.5k, 5k and 10k to half marathon; a road run suitable for buggies and wheelchairs; and the “Big Bug” Family Fun Run. For the first time, runners will also have the opportunity to join the Night Run, for adventurers who are not afraid of the dark. Runners are encouraged to rest, recover, and relax between races in the brand new Stretch Studio, featuring a mix of group stretching classes as well as hands on, expert-assisted stretching. The new Recovery Zone also offers hammocks, ice baths, massages and more!
When it’s time to refuel, be sure to visit one of the amazing street food traders at the festival. Runners can choose from buddha bowls to mouth-watering vegan sandwiches to every runner’s staple food: porridge! Over 50% of the vendors will be serving up delicious vegan and veggie options that are healthier for you and the planet.
Vendors will also use compostable serve-wear only and sell canned water, making the festival a plastic-free zone. Don’t forget to bring your reusable water bottle!
