SCARPA has signed up as title sponsor of the Great Lakeland 3Day for the next three editions of the event. In addition, the brand will become the exclusive footwear sponsor of the Montane Dragon’s Back Race. Both are organised by Ourea Events, which has welcomed SCARPA as the latest strategic partner for its portfolio of mountain running events.
With a history that goes back to 1998, the SCARPA Great Lakeland 3Day takes place in the Lake District each year over the early May bank holiday weekend. A three-day mountain journey with overnight camping, the event now offers a choice of six different courses, covering a variety of distances and degrees of challenge. The event centre changes every year, giving participants opportunities to explore different areas of the Lake District. The SCARPA Great Lakeland 3Day is famous for its laidback, friendly and welcoming atmosphere, allowing those involved to enjoy the scenery and spend time with fellow runners in camp. As title sponsor, SCARPA will use the event to showcase its extensive range of shoes and boots for trail and fell running, and other mountain activities. SCARPA has also signed up as exclusive footwear partner for the Montane Dragon’s Back Race for three years. Widely regarded as the toughest multi-stage mountain race on the planet, the annual Montane Dragon’s Back Race attracts ultra-runners from around the world to attempt a six-day journey south along the mountainous spine of Wales, covering 380km, with 17,400m of ascent.
