Salomon Cross Season Waist (with Bladder) – Test & Review

"This product, with its 1 litre fluid capacity, hits the spot for a long run."

I started running in 2002 and I am incredibly proud to say I have completed many multi-day and long-distance ultra marathons. Most of my running is done off-road, on a variety of trails. I am very lucky to have the South Downs Way National Park close at hand, as well as other beautiful local trails.

Out on the trails this Spring I started my test and review of the new Salomon Cross Season Waist (unisex belt with bladder) in the colour of Ebony/Black.

Salomon Cross Season waist review

One of the main problems I experience whilst out on longer trails is maintaining hydration. Especially when I occasionally get lost!! This product, with its 1 litre fluid capacity, hits the spot for a long run. The bladder, insulated pipe and bite valve are all very well made, with the bladder clipping into a separate compartment within the belt.

The mouthpiece and tube attach across the front and to the opposite side of the belt so it can be easily accessed. What’s more, there was no excessive bounce or movement, even while I had my phone, waterproof jacket and a couple of snacks!

I have tried other running belts in the past, which tend to be bulkier and more awkward when filled with my running essentials.

The roll-top weather-resisting ‘dry bag style’ closure is a good confidence booster when running in the rain, keeping my things completely dry! The belt is also padded for comfort and has compression straps on either side, which can be tightened as the fluid/pack reduces in size.

I would recommend this Salomon Cross Season Waist Bladder Belt. It’s a welcome addition to my running kit and a great alternative to wearing a pack for those who were interested in switching up their routine.
