Kevin Sinfield is a dynamite athlete and rugby coach raising money for a very personal cause. In a personal challenge of seven Ultras in 7 Days, the former rugby player is raising money for Motor Neurone Disease (MND), which affected teammate and dear friend Rob Burrow, who was diagnosed with MND in 2019.
The fundraiser challenge will see Kevin run 27 miles for seven days, travelling to different parts of the country as “MND is everywhere”, Kevin said.
Kevin has completed many challenges to raise funds for MND in honour of Rob Burrow over the years following his diagnosis, including the London Marathon. Estimates show he has already raised around £8m for charities since 2019.
As of now, Kevin has entered his 4th day with his current fundraising journey now reaching over £300,000. He told the crowd over the weekend: “The former Leeds Rhinos captain told the crowd: “With the weather we’ve had, it’s been horrendous, but we’ve got through and we’ve got here to the finish.
“We’ve seen some lovely people along the way and had a great send-off this morning. Wherever we’ve been, we’ve had incredible support.”
Sinfield moves on to Edinburgh on Monday, crossing the Forth Road Bridge before heading around Holyrood and finishing at Murrayfield.
