Pennine Barrier Starts in the beautiful village of Malham with trails taking in Malham Cove, the Dry Valley of Watlowes, Malham tarn, Fountains Fell, Janet’s foss and the wonderful Yorkshire 3 peaks of Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough. This is a stunning route with excellent support from the GB Ultras team making it a race you’ll always remember!

Can you tell us a bit about the Pennine Barrier race?

The Pennine Barrier was on Saturday 7th May 2022 and our start and the finish line were set up in the nice little village of Malham. Runners head from Malham village straight up the steps up Malham Cove, they then head over to the Dry Valley of Watlowes and towards Malham Tarn. From Malham Tarn they head across Fountains Fell, drop down the other side then start on the Yorkshire Three Peaks trail from the base of Pen-y-ghent, the smallest of the Three Peaks in the Yorkshire Dale. It has a nice quick climb and a runnable descent.
