Ultra runner and #TeamMontane athlete, Galen Reynolds, has come third in the 2023 Tor des Geants TOR330 – running for 71 consecutive hours to secure a podium spot.
Galen, originally from Canada, was running the TOR330 race for the fifth time, finishing in second place previously in 2018 and 2019 – competing with some of the world’s most prestigious athletes to complete the 330km race across the Valle d’Aosta region of Northern Italy.
Since joining Montane in 2019, the 39-year-old has had a significant run of victories in prestigious ultra races across the continent – the most recent in 2022 where he finished 1st in the 360-kilometre Swiss Peaks race.
On his podium finish, Galen said: “I suffered a lot from the heat during the first day, even remaining without water at Col Arp, then I felt much better, and I recovered. The atmosphere here is unbelievable it’s not like anywhere else, each TOR is a unique journey, different from the previous one, full of indescribable emotions.”
Montane’s Marketing Director, Matthew Hickman said: “Galen continues to push boundaries and prove himself at an elite global level for mountain running. His commitment and drive are evident in the journey and success he has had over the past few years.
“We are honoured to have him on Team Montane and he’s an inspiration to the entire business. We’ve been furiously dot-watching over the last few days and for him to get a podium spot at the Tor in such a stacked field is a brilliant achievement!”
