The Fast and Free Leggings by Lululemon are super cool.
Super Lightweight. Super Flex. Super Smooth.
Running in them really was a breeze. I was truly blown away how sleek and smooth they were. They also fit like a glove.
I’m a leggy size 14 and the 25” length were perfect for me. The high-waist, reinforced band was worth every penny as it held me in and stayed up no matter how bumpy the trails or rough roads I was running on became. There was a little bit of riding up when I bent or sat down for a mini break but I assume that’s to be expected in such a soft, flexible fabric. There were no baggy folds after I’d worn them several times and as world record holder and ultra runner Camille Herron herself has said ‘they feel like a second skin’ – it’s true.
The pockets were also super handy. One day I had to stash my house keys in them and they were absolutely fine. Yes they were quite bulky but it showed that the pockets were plenty deep enough to easily fit them whilst still being comfortable to run in.
The back pockets can also easily fit in a couple of gels and on the inside they have breathable mesh to help with airflow and wick away any sweat.
The material is so flexi and smooth that I thought they might pull or tear with being so delicate, but the lightweight Nulux™ fabric is designed with extra Lycra® fibre for stretch and shape retention – great for running outdoors. Mud and sand got caked on my legs but it rubbed off and I found the material soaked in any residue, so even though they were damp from getting wet they weren’t dripping. This actually felt quite nice on those cooler running days when they were damp, again due to the nature of the material.
The mud washed out well, and there was no sagging in the material afterwards. They also dried very fast and were ready the next day to wear again.
Come Winter I’ll be absolutely fine wearing them too as they have small reflective details sitting at the bottom of the ankles as well as as the top.
I experienced no chafing either as the Fast & Free Leggings are seam-free. My inner thighs were in for a pain-free run and I loved that I didn’t even have to think about this.
Finally who doesn’t love a great colour. The Wild Indigo colour is stunning and goes with the rest of my running kit brilliantly. I’d love to add more Lululemon to it very soon.
