Endurancelife Classic Quarter – 2022
The Endurancelife Classic Quarter is a relentless Ultra Marathon along the South Cornish coast in the UK from Lizard Point to land’s End. The event is held annually and is scheduled for 21st May this year.
The task is brutally simple: to run non-stop from the southernmost point of England (Lizard Point) to the western most tip (Land’s End), along the legendary South West Coast Path. This translates to running 90 degrees of the compass, hence the name,Classic Quarter.
This Cornish Ultra Marathon challenge can be undertaken as a solo, a relay team of two, or as a relay of four. The atmosphere is of keen and friendly rivalry and has become an annual favourite with Cornish runners.
2022 will be the event’s 16th anniversary year: First hosted in 2007 each year the event grows in global reputation. It was the inspiration of local businessman Simon Tregoning from Classic Cottages.

NEW FOR 2022:
2022 is going to be a great year for the event with some big changes to celebrate the event’s 16th year anniversary including live GPS tracking for all relay teams, bespoke, locally made trophies for solo category winners and a big incentive for those who want to write their name into the record books…
James Barker, Director of Endurancelife says, “2020 and 2021 have been toned down events due to social distancing and other restrictions. For 2022 we are excited to go back to a ‘full fat’ Classic Quarter and have some great new initiatives to roll-out including our “Run The Record” challenge where 2 x £1K prize money is offered to anyone who can better the current male or female course records (06:27:00 [2019] & 07:02:05 [2016] respectively). The prize monies will be split evenly between the participant and a charity of the participant’s choosing. Each year we have top athletes who come specifically to try to break these records but they are provinghard to beat! We are looking forward to someone breaking them soon!”
