BAM Zero 73 Running Gilet – Test and Review

"Produced with sustainability front of mind..."

Striving for a better planet – one stride at a time. As a trail runner I spend a lot of time in nature – it’s where I’d always rather be – so, running clothing that is not only functional but is also produced with sustainability front of mind is, in my opinion worth investing in.

The BAM Zero 73 training gilet is made from 100% recycled polyester that can be recycled back into fabric grade polyester, so it can be used (and loved!) again.

“Lightweight and super warm.

Made from a 100% recycled polyester and insulated with a 100% recycled polyester Thermore Ecodown filling that is lightweight and very warm. This high-grade recycled polyester can be fully recycled by our recycling partner Project Plan B.”

Alongside the material being recyclable, it’s also coated with a water-resistant Teflon Eco Elite® layer, meaning that although it’s not waterproof, it’s a good piece of lightweight kit to carry with you for the inevitable summer rain showers.

I found it packs easily into my waist bag for shorter runs. The gilet fits well – I’m a UK 8 and have a size small and it’s not too snug so I can comfortably layer it up. The drawstring waist is flattering and stops too much movement in the wind. Overall, it’s a useful and stylish addition to a runner’s summer staple wardrobe!
