BAM Bamboo Crop Bralette – Test & Review

"After a few weeks of testing with a mix of running and workout sessions (pilates and cardio) I barely noticed I had it on."

It can be quite the challenge to choose a sports bra, I should know after searching on-and-off for a few years now. So I do have some experience in what to look out for when testing the Bamboo Crop Bralette by BAM – their new sporty bralette.

Sports bras tend to offer different levels of support: low, medium and high impact. Depending on your cup size and the type of exercise you do will determine which sports bra suits you the best. The BAM Crop Bralette offers enough comfort and medium support suitable for running and exercise workouts.

As soon as I took the bra out of the packaging I could tell that it would be super comfortable. The Raspberry pink material was very soft and smooth. It had adjustable straps and back fastenings so you can achieve the best fit. I adjusted the large size I had ordered to suit me and so far so good. It was snug and lightweight – so much so that in the coming weeks I would even forget that I was wearing it.

“We’ve used 90% bamboo viscose so this bralette feels incredibly soft. Then we’ve added 10% elastane to give you comfort and support where you need it.”

There’s a racer-back option too and I found this to be the best way of wearing the Crop Bralette, as when I first went out running in it the straps would keep falling down. For me personally I really liked this design extra and it made my running and other workouts go without a hitch.

The band underneath also offered enough support. I don’t wear wired bras so this type of underband is just what I need. Everything stayed in place during my testing. The double layer of stretchy bamboo viscose does its job. Even when I got sweaty the material wicked it away so I didn’t feel too sticky. It was also easy to take off after a running session on a particularly warm day.

This bralette is also primarily from recycled fabrics. BAM looks at every stage of their product life cycle and breaking new ground in fashion traceability and transparency. With the new BAM DNA, customers can discover the full back story of each item of clothing, from the raw materials to its environmental impact, by scanning the QR code on the BAM label. An ingenious idea.

After a few weeks of testing with a mix of running and workout sessions (pilates and cardio) I barely noticed I had it on. It didn’t feel tight and was actually very comfy. – which for me is amazing as I don’t often get the right balance in a sports bra. For short-ish running sessions and training I would happily pick up this bra. I liked it so much that I went online and bought their Flexa Seamless Crop Top which is just as soft and has even more support with its high neckline style.

As an athletic type I’ve found the fit very flattering. I can easily wear it underneath t-shirts. The Raspberry colour is lovely and as an active mum on-the-go I can grab the Crop Bralette and feel great.
