Last Thursday night, two Ultra marathon world records got broken on the Spartanion Race course at the Yarkon Park in the heart of Tel Aviv, Israel!
- The two records were broken by Lithuanian ultra-marathon runner Aleksandr Sorokin, who holds three world records
At ten o’clock PM, The Lithuanian runner broke the 100 miles WR and the 12 hours WR and he is now considered to be the fastest 100-mile (161 km) runner in the world.
Aleksandr Sorokin, the ultra runner, arrived at the Spartanion competition, held in the Ganei Yehosha Park in Tel Aviv, Israel, in order to break the record he himself set last April. During the race, he also smashed the 100-miles WR and became a running legend overnight.
The Spartanion Race, an Ultra Marathon competition, which is being held for the third year in a row, includes five ultra-running heats: 24 hours, 12 hours, 100 miles (161 km), 100 km and a “short” marathon and a half heat (63 KM).
