Ajay Hanspal: Double Paddy Buckley Round Record Broken

He is only the second person EVER to complete the challenge...

Can you imagine running over 60 miles over Wales toughest Mountains to then turn around and do it all over again? Well Ajay Hanspal completed just that, becoming the second person ever to complete the challenge and setting a new record in the process.

Traversing a staggering 132 miles, conquering 58,500ft of elevation over 94 summits, Ajay, a co-founder of the Green Runners, completed this monumental task in 52 hours and 51 minutes, shaving off an impressive 5 hours from the previous record.

The Paddy Buckley is the Welsh Big Round. The route is a circuit of just over 100 km long taking in some 47 summits. The Round has the reputation of being somewhat tougher to complete than its English Lake District equivalent, the Bob Graham Round.

Fellrunning and Ultrarunning legend Nicky Spinks was the first to complete the challenge in 2019 running the Double Paddy Buckley Round in 57hrs 27mins.
