1000 Mile Fusion Double Layer Anklet Sock – Test and Review

"They are lightweight, breathable, comfortable..."

Comfort, on long runs, has to be one of the most sought-after factors, at least for me. I tried the 1000 Mile Fusion Anklet Sock and wore it on three different terrains.

I found the socks to be incredibly padded, which worried me at first as I thought they would fill my shoe and lead to blisters or bruised toenails. However, I was pleasantly surprised as the padding was comfortable and lightweight.

I was also worried that the thickness of the socks would lead to sweating and heat; however, their ventilation technology was excellent, and I just found the socks to be incredibly breathable.

They claim their padded technology is only comfortable but protects the Achilles tendon by shielding the foot from any discomfort from the footwear.

“The inner layer stays with the foot as the outer layer moves with the shoe, eliminating friction on the skin and protecting your feet from blisters. 1000 mile socks are designed with the purpose of protecting not just athletes but also people with serious health issues like diabetes, where foot health is essential.”

After washing, the socks came out as if brand new, which is a relief. I feel like I’m putting on new socks every time I wear them.

Some of their socks are made from recycled materials, which is excellent for those who are looking to be greener when it comes to their running: “Run green with our range of recycled men’s and women’s running socks made from 100% recycled materials, primarily plastic bottles.  In other words, they help the planet by reducing energy, water and greenhouse gases.”

Overall, having never used the brand before, I think these are an excellent addition to my running gear. They are lightweight, breathable, comfortable and can last for miles upon miles without any fear of blisters or rubbing.
